RECAP!

Filed under: Sports, Pictures, Love, Friends

(Denise and that clapper she bought as memento. I should have bought the air horn!)

Tell you something. I have been so busy this week, I rarely had the chance to update this blog of mine.
And I still have more things to do later on, so I shall keep this update short this time.

(Bye Xabi?)

Last week, Denise and I caught the Singapore vs Liverpool match as she received free tickets from her
aunt who works at Nike. Cool right? I was so honoured beyond words she chose me of all people! OMG.
I am a Red Devil fan please, but I will never object to freebies! Especially, photo opportunities! :P

Sadly, my beloved Singapore team lost to the Reds five goals to nothing. What made it more disappointing,
the National Anthem was not even aired like the Pool’s Anthem. Last time I heard, the contract was breached
since no anthem was allowed to be played that day. Pool sucks, perhaps they do not understand English that
well eh? Hahaha go Devils! :D

(She’s one cool person to hang around with, yo!)

Then on Wednesday, there was Poly 50 and I was one of the photographers that day. Cool is it not? :)

The best thing about being a photographer is that everyone suddenly becomes my friend, even the Miss DJ
on top. And everyone will just be dying to call out for me, just to have their photos taken. Fun right? It is as if
I have become Mister Popular. Heh. Not that I crave for attention, but sometimes it feels great to be appreciated
and wanted.

I love my models. That is why I not only take photos, but I give photos to them as well. It is the best way of
returning the favour. :)

(Running with ghosts. Cool eh?)

So I should be submitting these photos to Mister Terence tomorrow at SAA — in CD form — and it has been so long
since I last disturbed my stack of blank CDRs. But I wonder how come they are depleting right now — must be my
sister eh? Tsk tsk!

(SP Photographers! Not many fireworks photos I took, only those in Facebook. Had fun though!)

Just yesterday, we had another SPPeeps outing at Esplanade for the National Day preview plus fireworks display.
But, my lack of experience in capturing fireworks caught up with me, so I did not really manage to get any decent
shots from the outing. However, having the SPPeeps were enough to compensate my disappointment because these
people being camera lovers, really really love to take photos of themselves! How can I not join in the madness too eh??

Especially peeps like Xin Yi and Halimah! Oh yea Halimah, now I am really considering purchasing that Mini Instax,
even when I already own the Instax 200. Grr.

(These two girls are camera-crazy. They love cameras so much, so they rock!)

But I should save up more. For my future. And I should not eat too much fast food already. I spent too much,
way too much on Zinger ahhh! >< "

By the way, my parents are considering purchasing an external flash unit for me so that I could really start
on doing part-time photography assignments. I find this super cool, but I cannot imagine the amount of tasks
piling up on me. Erk!

Not that I am complaining, I am just a little concerned here. But you all should know me by now, I would love it
so much more if they could just get for me that flash I have been waiting for! Come on come on! :P

FOR ALL THE WEIRD THINGS WE DO

(Delvin will forever haunt these girls, really!)

After one quickie month of lovemaking and bondage between my classmates, I am glad to say that these
young chaps have truly gelled well with each other like both Joosty’s hair and Gatsby’s moving rubber wax do.

I am touched to see how cohesive we are, like how my soldiers used to work so well together in camp —
It brought about an unexplainable taste of delight just by looking at how they cared for each other.
My classmates are more than friends now; we are like one big happy, crazy family.

(Erm Platoon Sergeant Rusydi.. I see something moving behind the tree. Is that our enemy??)

If you ask me, these are colourful people too!

The smart slackers; the stupid cheongsters; the hongsters; the wankers;
The lovely beauties; the sexy beasts; the Smokescreen; the Keech!;
The sportsmen; the hunks; the sportswomen; the bums;
And the photogenic; the matchmakers; the photophobic; the scandalous!

(For your own safety, please stay away from Joosty!)

They are what I go to school for.
Jackfruit cried out foul yesterday during The Great Boredom in Math class, and he said,
“Ahh. Can’t I just drop out and start working already??”

And this guy is such a smart donkey. I mean, from the amount of fruits he consumed after every meal,
I am not surprised at this brainiac — his brain must be smelling fruity always, and the name is Jacky.
You all should have figured out why I call him Jackfruit then.
HAHAHA!

(This reminds me of the statue in Brazil, for whatever reason it can be..)

The unintentional hurt and love..
Sometimes we went too far with our fooleries that we hurt the ones we love, but it was only natural for us
to forgive and forget each other’s mistakes because of the strong phosphodiester bonds between us. Like really!

Delvin especially. Tsk tsk. We hurt because we love.
I think..

>< "

(Jiayang, malu.. Flasher wants to pose, have to suck in his stomach! HAHAHA!)

But best of all, these are my best photo buddies! Especially Joosty! He shares the same passion with me,
he is sporty, he loves girls and we hug each other everyday! Now that is ONE LOVE, is it not? HAHAHA!
Please, hurry up and get your own DSLR!

And our girls are so photogenic, I will never tire from snapping their beautiful photos.
I am not lying! Joonies, there is no sarcasm here so stop hitting me! Wahahaha!

(This is so DOPT/1A01!)

Joosty found out this beautiful D’Kranji Farm Resort where we can spend our vacation week together.
I am just concerned with the size though. If we cannot find some other place, those who intend to sleep,
go and lie on top of each other. Really..

HAHA!

(And this is the REAL DOPT/1A01!!)

Alrighty, I am supposed to meet with these people at 1300hrs for shopping, photoshooting, dinner
and movie probably. And I have not even showered.

Ciao people. You all rock my socks!

xD

DREAMS DREAMS DREAMS

Filed under: Sports, Pictures, Humour, Love, Friends

Keech introduced to DOPT/1A01 a super-addictive new hobby, The Frisbeeeeeeeee!

Both Joosty and I improved so much on our throwing techniques within one day so Keech
must be one good teacher right? :D

By the way, Keech is a member of SP’s Ultimate Frisbee Club, so it was only wise for
us to pick up tips from this guy.

And Evon, do not be discouraged yet yah? You will surely get the hang of it soon, promise!

After four hours of baking in the noon sun, both Evon and Joonies turned itchy and hot lobsters
respectively while the other guys turned golden hash browns; my mother just told me I became
blacker than black.

OMG.

After which, accompanied Yinsan to Vivocity before I took a straight bus 65 to my place.
Totally hugged my ranger bag that was placed on my lap in that mobile fridge 65 — I was in my
shorts some more!

x(

Slept throughout the fridge ride and slept somemore at home feeling sunburnt all over.
Like a roasted rooster,
I could not help myself but to keep sweating and sweating even after my showers!

And my dreams today came in two parts, one before I spoke to Evon, another after that.
I told her what I dreamt of her when I saw her online, but I had another dream of her after that.
It was weird and I have yet to tell her. Should I?

x)

And I suddenly saw people like Sakina, Nazaratul, Yinsan and my cousin in my dreams just now.

They were freaky, but cool nonetheless. HAH!

LOVE

It is not even a month in school and I am already thinking of producing a class graduation video.
And I have this soundtrack in mind that I will most likely use —
I have a basic sketch of how the video will turn out too.

Really, my class is the type which has students who study and play hard.
And I love the energy within this group of friends!

Love you all heaps!

Anyway, Man Utd is through to the Champions’ League final in Rome by sinking the Gunners!

HEY ROME!

LOVE UNITED

Filed under: Videos, Sports, Pictures, Love

Did you guys happen to catch the awesome Devils’ comeback win against Spurs last night? If you did not,
you have definitely missed one of the greatest comebacks ever produced by Man Utd!

Music Video Code by FootyFilms.com

If you could recall eight years back, Man Utd did an almost similar kind of damage to Spurs, the only
difference being they were already trailing by three goals to nil at half time. But even with Veron, Cole and
Nistelrooy in their ranks at that time, everyone would have thought that it was game over for the
Devils.

Wrong. No one should ever conclude anything, not until the final whistle.

We only need three wins and a draw to win the league. Go Man Utd!

THERE GOES MY LAST LOVER

There goes my favourite online audio streaming client, Last.fm. Last Wednesday, the developers decided to
change the way Last.fm Radio works in countries other than the US, UK and Germany; subscribers not from
these three countries will have to fork out €3.00 per month to continously stream music like how it used to work
so well previously. More information about the changes can be found at their blog.

I am so fond of Last.fm basically because of its ability to stream music based on their genres, or global tags.
Its simple design interface allows me to quickly search for desired tags like downtempo and post-rock and
it is easy to scout for similar artistes to the ones I love listening to like Boards of Canada, Flunk, Sia, Tycho
and so much more. I love waking up and just having to click the play button and let them stream my
favourite music non-stop. But now that they have decided to upset me by adopting this questionable
service, I guess I have no other choice but to uninstall the client and learn to live without it.

My 30GB worth of music should suffice but I am already suffering from crappy withdrawal symptoms!

Anyway..

Happy 17th Birthday Evon Liu Bixie! You are so officially six years younger than me now huh? >< "

The guys organised this mini birthday celebration for her just outside our lecture theatre yesterday
and we got two miserable slices of cakes for her to indulge in to (but it is the thought that counts, right?).
It looked yummy and I wanted to have a taste of it but after having witnessed Evon's nose plonked right
into the sweet treat, I figured it was best to just stay away from them.

Eeeew...

Delvin had the other slice though, so..

I brought my girlfriends along for this occassion, all four of them except my first darling because she
needed more rest at my place. So sad, but the other four could easily manage the responsibilities
without much problems.

I had my 1000D, F40FD, Instax 200 and 135BC all work for me yesterday and they all were really
sweeeeeet~!

We all stayed on for quite a while, having fun with each other and taking videos too using my F40FD.
It is cool seeing how useful my compact can get even though I have my massive 1000D with me, complete
with the nifty 50mm lens. I am so not going to abandon this first digital baby of mine! :D

And right after the girls left, the boys did something they had been doing so frequently for the whole
week: GAMES!

We had already spent alot on bowling and pool games at the SP Graduates’ Guild just because we were
gifted with too much spare time in hands. Just for this week, though. I can already foresee our workload
piling up exponentially in the next few days — heck, we already have a couple of projects due by the
end of May.

*sighs*

Everyone is starting their revision already; everyone realised that Optometry is no easy course!

School is dreadful, but our class is definitely one of a kind. You all rock peeps!

By the way, Qi Rui was planning for a class outing this coming Wednesday or Friday. Suggestions guys!

Oh, before I end, here is another shoutout for Evon Liu,

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!”

100 RUNNING TIPS

Apparel Tips
- Wear spandex shorts under your regular running shorts so you don’t chafe “down there.”
- Cotton socks will only lead to blisters; invest in socks designed for running.
- Ladies, do not skimp on a bra. Even if it costs more than your shoes it’s still a bargain.
- Buy running clothes you look good in and that will motivate you to run.
- Buy new running clothes at the end of the season when stores dump the old season’s line.
Think clearance!

Community
- Join your local running club—check with your local running store fitness center and/or
recreation department to find one.
- Volunteer at a local race—meet runners support runners and connect with your Community.

Manners
- Remember to say “Thank You!” to race volunteers (e.g. when you get that cup of water at the aid station)
and family and friends who support you.
- Conscientiously share the trail with walkers, bikers and other runners.
- Always try to balance running with the people you love by making a schedule
that involves and is considerate of everyone.
- Don’t carry loose change. It will annoy those who are running with you.
- Don’t neglect and irritate your family and friends by spending all your time running and
talking about running.

Motivation Tips
- Sign up for a race as soon as you feel up to it.
- Find a committed running partner. It is much harder to skip a run when you have
someone else depending on you.
- Remember that you will have plateaus in your progress and tough days along the way.
It gets easier.
- Accept and appreciate the fact that not every single run can be a good one.
- Be prepared to remove the words “can’t” and “never” from your vocabulary.
- “Do not compare yourself to others. Run within yourself and for yourself first.
- Don’t expect every run to be better than the last one; some of them will hurt.
- Don’t think too much about it or you won’t do it.
- Even a bad run is better then no run at all.
- If you normally run with music try skipping it and listening to your feet to hear your
pace and your gait.
- Don’t be discouraged if you don’t experience weight loss immediately.
- Start a running blog and read other running blogs regularly.
- Running is not an excuse to triple your intake of doughnuts because runners gain weight too.

Nutrition Tips
- Buy the powdered sports drink mix instead of premixed. It’s cheaper and more
similar to race drink mixes.
- Each pound you lose makes running a little easier.
- Hydrate. Make it a habit to drink water throughout the day.
- If you are running very long distance drink enough electrolytes (e.g. Gatorade).
- On long runs eat something every hour—whether you feel like it or not.
- During longer runs if you don’t like to carry water take some cash in your
pocket pouch or a shoe wallet. Run a route where there’s a corner store that
you can use as a pit stop to pick up your water and maybe use the bathroom.
- Avoid eating spicy foods before running and the night before your long runs.
- To aid recovery the most crucial time to eat and drink is in the hour
immediately after you run.

Prevention Tips
- Use Vaseline or BodyGlide wherever things rub. They will help prevent
blisters and chafing (guys don’t forget the nipples).
- Do not increase your mileage more than 10 percent per week.
- Guys: Band-Aids before the long runs. Your nipples will thank you in the shower afterwards.
- Log your mileage for your legs and your Shoes. Too much on either will cause you injury.
- If you are prone to shin splints and lower leg pain try running soft trails for your
Training runs and save the asphalt for race day.
- Do not run two hard days back-to-back.
- Ice aches and pains immediately.
- Pay attention to your form. Try to run lightly to minimize impact that could lead to injury.
- Cut your Training by at least 30 percent to 50 percent every 4th or 5th week for recovery.
- When trail running don’t forget the bug spray.
- Neosporin (or another antibiotic cream) is good for chafed areas
(if you didn’t use your BodyGlide!).
- Make sure you cut your toenails short enough so they don’t jam into your Shoes!
- Put some BodyGlide between your toes on long runs.
- Be careful about running on paths that force you to run consistently on a slant.
It’s hard on the hips knees and IT bands.
- Don’t stretch before a run. Warm up by walking briskly or jogging slowly for several minutes.
- Do not ice for more than 20 minutes at a time.
- Do not use the hot tub after a race. It will increase inflammation and hinder healing.
- Frozen peas make a great ice pack for aches and pains. A thin t-towel wrapped
around them makes the cold more comfortable.

Racing Tips
- Race day is not the day to try new shoes, eat new foods, or wear brand new clothing.
- Do not try a marathon as your first race.
- For races longer than 5k start out slower than you think you should.
- If you conserve your energy during the first half of a race, you can finish strong.
- When you pick up drinking cups at aid stations, squeeze gently so it folds slightly
and is easier to drink from it while you are moving.
- A plastic garbage on race day is a very fashionable cheap disposable raincoat.

Safety Tips
- Be aware of cyclists approaching you from behind and try to keep to the right.
Try to pay special attention when running with music.
- Run facing traffic.
- Never assume a car sees you.
- Give horses wide berths on trails and walk as you pass them unless you enjoy
a hoof to the melon.
- Always carry I.D. because you just never know.

Shoe Tips
- Try shoes on in the afternoon when your feet are bigger.
- Doubleknot your shoe laces so they will not come undone when you run.
- Buy yourself some actual running shoes from an actual running store because
running in junk “sneakers” will destroy your
feet and your legs.
- Get assessed for the right kind of running shoes.

Training Tips
- In the immortal words of Walt Stack famed senior-citizen distance runner
“Start slow … and taper.”
- At first keep your runs short and slow to avoid injury and soreness so you do not quit.
- If you are breathing too hard slow down or walk a bit until you feel comfortable again.
- Pick your route close to home (out your front door)—the more convenient it
is the better chance you will have sticking with it.
- Find a beginner training plan for your first race.
- Set realistic short term and long term goals.
- Keep a training diary.
- Soreness one to two days after a run is normal (delayed onset muscle soreness).
- No amount of money spent on gadget training programs or funny food can
substitute for minutes, hours, days and weeks on the road.
- There’s no shame in walking.
- Subscribe to a running magazine or pick up a book or two on running.
- Four laps around the local the high school track equals one mile.
- Lift weights.
- It’s okay to take walk breaks (run 1 minute walk 1 minute then progress
to run 10 minutes walk 1 minute etc.).
- Vary your training routes. This will prevent boredom and prevent your body
from getting acclimated.
- Speed work doesn’t have to be scientific. Try racing to one light post and
then jogging to the next.
- Push through rough spots by focusing on the sounds of your breath and
feet touching the ground.
- Do speedwork after you develop an endurance base.
- Practice running harder in the last half of your runs.
- Do abdominal breathing to get rid of side cramps or “stitches.”
- If you can’t find the time to run, take your running gear to work.
- Run on trails if at all possible. It will be easier on your body and you’ll love it.
- Build rest into your schedule. Rest is just as important of an element as
exercise in your fitness plan.
- Forgive yourself. Over-ambitious goals usually lead to frustration and
giving up on your fitness plan. If you miss a goal or milestone let it go and
focus on the next opportunity to get it.
- Mix-up your training plan. Make sure your training plan is not too heavily
focused on one thing. No matter what level of runner you are your
training plan should include four essential elements: endurance speed rest cross-training.

Weather Tips
- Dress as if it is 10 degrees warmer than the temperature on the thermometer.
- Wear sunscreen and a hat when the sun is beating down—even in winter.
- Run early in the morning or later in evening to avoid mid-day heat.
- Pick up a pair of Yaktrax when running in icey conditions.
- In the winter dress in layers (coolmax or other technical clothing) and
wear a headband over your running hat to cover your ears.
- For colder climates invest in socks rated to 40 below (usually found in sport/ski shops).
- To keep cool in hot weather soak a bandana in cold water wring it out a
bit and tie it loosely around your neck.
- For hot weather fill your water bottle about half way lay it at an angle
in the freezer and just before you head out for your run top it off with more water.

NOT YET THE END

Now that the Australian Open is over, it feels weird waking up and knowing
there is nothing to look forward to on cable television. After last night’s final match
of the tournament between Rafa and Rog, I knew this was going to happen: to miss
all the action that happened in possibly one of the greatest events of 2009.

The final matchup could not have been better for the tournament director as the
top 2 seeds in men’s tennis battled it out to claim the glorious Norman Brookes Challenge Cup,
a prize money of AUD $2,000,000 and valuable world ranking points. As it turned out,
tournament favourite Rafael Nadal of Spain emerged as champion and in doing so,
became the first Spaniard to win the Australian Open. He is now also included in an
elite group of 12 men who have claimed 3 Grand Slam titles on 3 different surfaces
(hardcourt, grass and clay) since the Open Era began.

In truth, Rog should have been able to easily dispose his Spaniard counterpart considering
the fact that Rafa ought to have been tired, ought to have been on the back foot on the
hardcourt surface, and he ought to have been tense in his first Australian Open final.
But there was not a bit of it.

Rafa went on to deny Rog a record-equalling 14th Grand Slam that would have matched
Pete Sampras’ achievement in a much shorter period.

But beside beating Rog on court, he did something which no one in the Arena would have
expected:

The Australian Open champion had broken Rog’s heart and made him cry and sob infront
of millions of fans and the tennis legends watching the prize-presentation.

With only the US Open left for Rafa to conquer, it will not be long before he becomes a legend
himself. And that really will make Rog cry.

Here are some facts and figures from the Australian Open 2009:

For the tenth consecutive year the Australian Open has attracted more than half a million
patrons with an official tournament attendance of 603,160 in 2009.

The highest ever day/night attendance in Grand Slam history was recorded three times
during the first week of the Australian Open, on Wednesday 21 January, Friday 23 January
and Saturday 24 January. The new record of 66,018 was set on Saturday 24 January.

A star-studded men’s and women’s singles draw included eight men’s Grand Slam champions
and six women’s Grand Slam champions and 31 of the top 32 men and 29 of the top 32 women.
A total of 46 nations were represented in the singles main draws (34 countries in the men’s
singles and 38 countries in the women’s singles.)

The tournament saw American Serena Williams win her fourth Australian Open title and a
dream final line up in the men’s draw, with the world No.1 Rafael Nadal battling it out with
World No.2 Roger Federer for the first Grand Slam title of the year.

Aussie Jelena Dokic enjoyed a remarkable return to form and run at this year’s Australian Open.
Having secured her place in the main draw by winning the Australian Open Play-off in
December, the former World No.4 put her troubled past behind her to win the hearts of the
Australian public and a place in the quarter-finals. Dokic enjoyed wins over two top 20 players
en route, before losing in three close sets to World No.3 Dinara Safina, improving her world
ranking from No.187 to a projected spot within the top 100.

Australian Open 2009 saw superb TV audience figures, highlighted with the 2.315 million
viewers across the five major metropolitan markets tuning into Channel Seven’s coverage
of the tournament on the second Tuesday night.

Entertaining the crowds were some of Australia’s top music acts including Vanessa Amorosi,
Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Mental as Anything, Black Sorrows, Daryl Braithwaite and Pete
Murray.

Over the fortnight fans devoured 12,204 meat pies, 18,417 hot dogs, 12,892 ice cream cones,
171,166 bottles of Evian water, 80,000 bottles of Heineken and 225,000 draught cups. There
were 25 kitchens operating with 175 kitchen staff and over 1,500 food and beverage staff.

Those who couldn’t get along in person made sure they kept in touch through the official
website www.australianopen.com powered by IBM. At the close of play on Day 13, 7.6 million
different people had already visited the official Australian Open website, up by one million on
last year’s figures for the same time. To date they have made over 35 million visits to the
web site.

Favourite player profiles among the fans on www.australianopen.com saw world No.1 Rafael
Nadal and this year’s women’s champion Serena Williams top the poll ahead of Roger Federer
and Dinara Safina. Andy Roddick leads the men’s competition for aces served at 87, with
Serena Williams topping the women’s at 42.

The fastest serves of the tournament were recorded by Australia’s Sam Groth (230km/h)
while Sabine Lisicki topped the women’s fastest serves (196km/h). Helping the players
serve were the racquet stringers who strung more than 3,400 racquets using over 40 km
worth of string, with the fastest racquet strung in just 14 minutes.

1733 members of the media (broadcast, print & radio) were accredited at Australian Open
2008 (785 international, 948 Australian).

And making it all happen behind the scenes were over 4,500 members of staff, including
337 Aviva Ballkids, 365 umpires, 220 Kia courtesy car drivers, 65 court services and
operations staff, 80 retail staff and 55 statisticians. A fleet of 85 official cars supplied by
the tournament’s major sponsor Kia Motors made in excess of 40,000 journeys transporting
players to and from Melbourne Park, clocking up more than 312,000 km.

Famous faces watching the action included Eric Bana, Dannii Minogue, Ben Cousins, Shane
Warne, Anthony Callea, Daniel McPherson, Shayne Reese, Stephanie Rice and Kate Ceberano.

Garnier World in Garden Square attracted more than 28,500 people through its doors,
with 2,186 patrons visiting on the busiest day. Over the fortnight 68 members of Garnier
staff provided 9,800 mini facials, 11,200 hair styles and 7,000 massages and used 43,000
bobby pins, 400 hairsprays, 350 hair waxes and putties.

The most popular item from the Australian Open retail shop was the official player towel
with 16,801 sold at Melbourne Park and online (includes four different towel types and designs).
In addition 2,692 Wilson Australian Open jumbo tennis balls were sold.

The next Grand Slam tournament will be the French Roland-Garros 2009 that will happen
on 24th May to 7th June 2009 and it will be a played on clay court.

And I will definitely be hoping that both Rafa and Ana are able to defend their French titles
which they won last year.

Go Rafael Nadal!

Go Ana Ivanovic!

THE FINAL

FEDERER VS NADAL: STAT ATTACK

* Tonight’s final will be the first time Nadal and Federer have met on court at the Australian Open.

* Both players have an 18-2 set win-loss record at Australian Open 2009.

* Both players have played just one five set match, winning every other round in straight sets.

* Nadal has spent exactly two hours longer than Federer on the court – 14 hours and 35 minutes,
compared with Federer’s 12 hours and 35 minutes.

* Nadal’s semi-final match broke the Australian Open match time record.
At 5 hours and 14 minutes, he spent three minutes longer on the court than
Boris Becker and Omar Camporese who previously held the record for the longest Australian Open
match, standing since 1991.

* If Federer wins today, he will equal Pete Sampras’ record of 14 Grand Slam trophies
– but he will have got there faster, appearing in just 39 Grand Slams to date compared
to Sampras’ 52 before he held up his 14th trophy.

* Federer also holds the record for reaching the most consecutive Grand Slam finals
with a run of 10 in a row starting with Wimbledon final in 2005 and ending when he fell in
the semifinals to Djokovic here last year.

* Federer has appeared in the 14 of the last 15 Grand Slam finals notching up 10 wins.
His four losses were all to Nadal, including two in 2008.

* Nadal has appeared in 7 finals, winning 5 and losing the other two to Federer.

* The No. 1 and 2 rankings will remain unchanged regardless of the outcome of tonight’s match.
The only difference will be the gap between the two players. If Nadal wins,
he will widen the gap to more than 3000 rankings point, however if Federer wins
the gap will narrow considerably to less than 17000 points.

* Despite the draw being designed to make it as likely as possible that the top two seeds
meet in the final (i.e. if the top seeded player in each match up progressed to the next round),
this is the first time since 2000 that this has happened at the Australian Open.

* Nadal leads the head-to-head of Federer-Nadal encounters 12-6 in Federer-Nadal.

* Federer lost to Nadal every time they met in 2008.

Even after all these stats, Rog is still something to be worried about in today’s final.
He has a record to achieve and has had enough rest compared to Rafa who battled
a 5 hour epic just 2 days ago. The Spaniard surely must be feeling the aches now.
But still, Rafa must win. He better!
